What We’ll do
- We’ll begin with a short outdoor story, introducing the fascinating world of plants and discovering how they grow, develop, and adapt to the environments in which they live.
- We’ll closely observe a variety of plants, learning to identify their main parts—roots, stems, leaves, flowers, and seeds—and understand the important role each plays in a plant’s life cycle.
- Through illustrated activity cards and guided observation, we’ll explore the shapes, colours, and unique features of leaves and flowers, learning how to recognise some of the most common plant species.
- We’ll discover the essential role plants play in healthy ecosystems, exploring how they produce oxygen, provide food and shelter for wildlife, and support the balance of the natural world.
- Finally, we’ll enjoy a hands-on botanical workshop, examining seeds, leaves, and other plant structures before creating a simple nature-inspired botanical artwork using natural materials.
